Maureen Kane & Associates, Inc.

Founded in 2002 by Maureen K. Kane, Maureen Kane & Associates, Inc. serves individuals and organizations by helping them identify goals, gain skills, and develop effective communication.

With a diverse background in municipal and non-profit organizations, Maureen is a frequent trainer and speaker with over 35 years of experience in leadership and professional skills training. Maureen’s municipal government background includes serving as a City of Riverside Council member from 1993 to 2002 and as Mayor’s Chief of Staff from 2012 to 2015. She was a Board Consultant to the California Air Resources Board from 2004 to 2012.

Maureen has served as Institute Director for the International Institute of Municipal Clerks training program, Technical Training for Clerks since it was developed in association with the City Clerks Association of California. She conducts the program at the University of California Riverside Extension Center where she serves as instructor of record. She is the past Executive Director of Continuing Education for Public Officials, Inc.

She is active in non-profit boards that focus on community assets and leadership training and is a current and founding board member of the California Ethics and Democracy Project. Maureen currently serves as a board member on Riverside County boards including the Law Enforcement Appreciation Committee and the Veterans Parade Committee. She is a member of the Steering Committee of Leadership Riverside and is a past President of the California Association of Leadership Programs. She has served as the President of the Board of organizations including the Riverside County Philharmonic, Riverside Art Museum, the Junior League of Riverside and the National Charity League.

Maureen is a licensed California registered nurse with special interest in psychiatric and mental illness diagnoses and treatment

One Asterisk Consulting

Maureen Kane & Associates, Inc. partners with One Asterisk Consulting to provide unique training focused on recognizing potential threats to public officials and dealing with difficult individuals including those with mental illness diagnoses. These sessions provide training on how to identify and assess individuals who may be disruptive or potentially violent.
